Week 3 of the NFL season brought big ratings to the usual suspects.
Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Dallas and Buffalo finished with four of the top local market ratings for NFL games on Sunday. Pittsburgh led the way with a 41.1 rating and a 67 share for the Steelers’ showdown against the Eagles. In Philadelphia, the game drew a 31.7/53.
Finishing second among local markets was Milwaukee, where Sunday night’s Cowboys/Packers showdown drew a 40.9/56. Dallas finished fourth overall, with a 38.1/56 for the same game.
New Orleans finished second with a 40.4/58 for Saints/Broncos, while Buffalo rounded out the top five with a 36.8/63 for Raiders/Bills.
Among other markets, the Patriots’ first regular season loss since 2006 drew a 20.5/48 in Boston, slightly less than the 20.8/40 the same game drew in Miami, site of the victorious Dolphins. The Colts’ loss to the Jaguars drew a 33.6/53 in Indianapolis, and a 29.7/46 in Jacksonville. In Cleveland, the Browns’ third straight loss to open the season drew a 25.5/46.
Seven NFL markets finished with ratings below 20.0, including Detroit, San Francisco/Oakland (for games involving the Raiders and 49ers), and St. Louis. The lowest local rating came for the Raiders’ game against the Bills, which drew a 10.9/31 in the Bay Area.
