- Michele Tafoya: The ESPN sideline reporter will no longer be part of the network’s NBA coverage. Tafoya, who has worked the sidelines at NBA games for five out of the past six seasons, “made her decision … after being home for only four nights in a six-week span during last season’s playoffs.” There is no word on who will replace Tafoya as the #1 sideline reporter, though Lisa Salters would seemingly be the frontrunner.
- Avery Johnson: The former Dallas Mavericks’ coach has joined ESPN as an NBA studio analyst for the upcoming season. Johnson, who was a guest analyst during the playoffs on TNT and ESPN, will join Stuart Scott and Bill Walton on NBA Shootaround, and will sometimes contribute to NBA Countdown on ABC.
- Lou Holtz: The ESPN college football analyst will not be disciplined after saying that “Hitler was a great leader too” during a conversation about Michigan head football coach Rich Rodriguez. Holtz later made an on-air apology. Earlier this year, Jemele Hill was suspended for a Hitler reference, Dana Jacobson was suspended for expletive-laden comments about Jesus, and Bonnie Bernstein received no discipline for comments about suicide bombers..
