- Greg Anthony: The former ESPN NBA analyst has officially shifted to CBS college basketball coverage. Anthony will work primarily in the studio alongside Greg Gumbel and Seth Davis, and will also call select games during the season. Anthony essentially replaces Clark Kellogg, who was promoted to the lead broadcast team this season.
- Kevin Calabro: The play-by-play man for the now deceased Seattle Supersonics will call NBA games on ESPN this season. Calabro, who has worked for ESPN Radio in the past, made his ESPN TV debut on Friday — ironically, calling a game involving the Oklahoma City Thunder.
- Stephen A. Smith: The ESPN personality will have his smallest role yet in the network’s NBA coverage. Smith will not be returning to NBA Shootaround, where he had been an analyst since 2003, and has no specific role in any of ESPN’s NBA coverage. An ESPN spokesman says Smith “will continue to report on the NBA within ESPN’s news and information outlets” such as SportsCenter and ESPNews.
