The NBA season got off to a solid start on TNT.
Doubleheader action featuring Cavaliers/Celtics and Blazers/Lakers averaged a 1.7 national rating and 2.6 million viewers on TNT Tuesday, up 13% and 30% from a 1.5 with 2 million viewers for last year’s Blazers/Spurs and Rockets/Lakers matchups.
Compared to two years ago, opening night was down in ratings but up in total viewers from a 1.8 with 2.4 million for Bulls/Heat and Suns/Lakers.
Opening night saw strong increases in key demos, including a 37% jump among adults 18-49, a 27% increase among men 18-49, and increases of 36% and 29% in the adults 18-34 and men 18-34 demos, respectively.
