- Bob Knight: The former college basketball coach will have an expanded role on ESPN this season. Knight, who joined ESPN as a guest analyst just prior to last year’s NCAA Tournament, will work as a game analyst primarily on Thursday nights and will join the cast of College Gameday full time. Knight will also make weekly appearances on SportsCenter, and either Mike & Mike in the Morning or Tirico & Van Pelt.
- John King: The CNN political analyst was a guest on NBA TV Tuesday night, explaining to studio host Ahmad Rashad how to use the touch screen maps that have become a staple of CNN political coverage. King entered the studio via ‘hologram’, a technology CNN debuted on election night. NBA TV and CNN are both Turner properties.
- Kenny Mayne: A show about the SportsCenter anchor, Mayne Street, debuted on ESPN.com Tuesday. Described as a Curb Your Enthusiasm-esque fictionalization of Mayne’s life at ESPN, the first episode of the fifteen-episode series featured Mayne and Scott van Pelt on the set of SportsCenter.
