NBC and ESPN saw increased ratings for Sunday and Monday Night Football last week.
Fueled by the presence of the Dallas Cowboys, Sunday Night Football drew an 11.6/18 final rating and 19.3 million viewers on NBC, up 25% and 33%, respectively, from a 9.3 with 14.5 million for last year’s comparable Patriots/Bills game. The 11.6 rating is the second-best of the season for a Sunday Night Football game, behind a 13.3 for Cowboys/Packers in September.
Through Week 11, NBC is averaging a 10.1 rating and 16.4 million viewers for Sunday Night Football, flat in ratings from last year.
Meanwhile, Monday Night Football, featuring the Bills against the Browns, drew a solid 8.8 cable rating and 11.6 million viewers on ESPN, up 22% and 21%, respectively, from a 7.2 with 9.6 million for last year’s comparable Titans/Broncos game.
So far this season, ESPN is averaging a 9.1 cable rating and 12.3 million viewers for Monday Night Football, up 8% and 13% from a 8.4 and 10.9 million through the same point in ’07.
Last Thursday night, NFL Network drew 4.4 million viewers for Jets/Patriots, down 56% from 10.1 million viewers for the network’s second game of the 2007 season, featuring the Cowboys and Packers.
