The Arena Football League will apparently go dark for 2009.
According to the Rocky Mountain News, the AFL is “expected to announce before the end of the week the league will suspend play for the 2009 season.”
The AFL had officially postponed a dispersal draft for the defunct New Orleans Voodoo and the start of free agency in a news release Tuesday. In the same release however, the league “indicated there would be a 2009 season.”
