For the second straight week, an NFL telecast involving the Steelers has finished as the most viewed NFL game of the season.
FOX drew a 15.6/28 final rating and 25.7 million viewers for Cowboys/Steelers on Sunday afternoon, making the game the highest rated, most viewed NFL telecast of the season. The game, which the Steelers won, was down 15% in ratings and viewership from an 18.4 with 30.3 million for Patriots/Steelers on the comparable date in ’07.
So far this season, the late Sunday afternoon NFL window is averaging a 13.9 rating on FOX and CBS, down 3% from a 14.3 through the same point last year. FOX alone is averaging a 14.2 for its late afternoon games, up 3% from last year.
Of the five most viewed NFL telecasts this season, three of the games involve the Dallas Cowboys, and the top two games involve the Pittsburgh Steelers.
