The third time was not the charm for the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football.
The Browns’ loss to the Eagles on Monday night drew a 7.5 cable rating and 9.9 million viewers on ESPN, down 21% and 23% respectively from a 9.5 cable rating and 12.8 million for last year’s comparable Bears/Vikings game.
The 9.9 million viewers is the third-fewest of the season for a Monday Night Football game, ahead of only 9.7 million for Broncos/Raiders in September, and 8.9 million for Jaguars/Texans earlier this month.
The game was the Browns’ third appearance of the season on Monday Night Football. Their previous appearances drew 11.4 and 11.6 million viewers.
With just one more game to go, ESPN is averaging an 8.8 cable rating and 11.8 million viewers for Monday Night Football, up 1% and 4% respectively from last year.
