- The previously announced 3D presentation of the BCS National Championship Game will air in 80 theaters across 35 states, as part of an agreement between Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp., Sony, and FOX Sports. The game marks the first time fans can pay to attend the presentation of a live, 3D sporting event. Cinedigm had already announced plans for a similar distribution of February’s NBA All Star Saturday Night.
- The second NHL Winter Classic will be sponsored by Bridgestone, reports Puck the Media. Bridgestone was also the title sponsor of NHL Premiere in October, which featured regular season games in Stockholm and Prague. Last year’s Winter Classic was sponsored by Amp Energy.
- While it may seem like “All Cowboys, All Day” on every channel, the NFL Network is taking it one step further. NFL Network will air 17 hours of Cowboys-related programming prior to Saturday night’s Ravens/Cowboys game, the final regular season game at Texas Stadium. The marathon includes a three-hour edition of NFL Total Access from Texas Stadium and a complete replay of the 1995 NFC Championship Game.
