Charles Barkley will miss a substantial amount of time from his job as an NBA analyst for TNT.
The Associated Press reports that Barkley, who was found to be legally drunk when he was arrested on suspension of DUI last New Year’s Eve, “will be off the air for a minimum of several weeks“, with no date set for his return.
Barkley’s leave of absence, which at this point more resembles an indefinite suspension, leaves TNT’s NBA studio show without its most recognizable face. The network will likely look towards some of its NBA TV talent, such as Chris Webber, Gary Payton and Steve Smith, to replace Barkley over the next several weeks.
