ESPN has assigned one of its top men’s basketball teams to a high-profile women’s game.
Brent Musburger and Bob Knight will call Monday night’s women’s college basketball game between Tennessee and #2 ranked Oklahoma on ESPN2. The game will feature Tennessee coach Pat Summitt, the winningest coach in the history of Division I women’s basketball, going for her 1,000th victory.
Knight’s presence is far from arbitrary; the former coach won 902 games in his career, the most wins in the history of Division I men’s basketball.
Musburger and Knight will be joined on the broadcast by analyst Nancy Lieberman and sideline reporter Holly Rowe.
