Ratings were even for ABC’s first NBA Sunday of the season.
Sunday’s doubleheader featuring Mavericks/Celtics and Spurs/Lakers averaged a 2.9 overnight rating, flat from last year’s comparable doubleheader.
The first game of the day, the Celtics’ blowout of the Mavericks, drew a 2.4/5 overnight rating, up 4% from a 2.3 for last year’s comparable Celtics/Magic tilt, but off 8% from a 2.6 for Suns/Cavaliers on the comparable date two years ago.
Meanwhile, the marquee battle between the Spurs and Lakers drew a 3.3/7 overnight later in the day, down 3% from a 3.4 for Cavaliers/Lakers in ’08, but even with a 3.3 for the same Spurs/Lakers matchup in ’07.
