For the second straight year, the Winter X Games came out ahead in its battle with the NHL All Star Game.
Coverage of Winter X Games 13 drew a 1.1 U.S. rating and 1.7 million viewers on ESPN Sunday night, up 10% and 11% from a 1.0 with 1.6 million for comparable coverage in ’08. The game beat the NHL All Star Game, which aired earlier in the night on Versus, by 83% in ratings (1.1 vs. 0.6) and 64% in viewership (1.7 million vs. 1.1 million).
The Winter X Games also improved on its Rockets/Pistons lead-in by 22% in ratings and 33% in viewership.
