The good news for Charles Barkley: his exile from TNT may soon be over. The bad news: so are his chances of broadcasting the NBA All-Star Game.
Charles Barkley will not be a part of TNT’s NBA All Star Game coverage this weekend. Turner Sports President David Levy flatly told the Sports Business Journal that the popular analyst “will not be part of our All-Star Weekend festivities.” Barkley has been on a leave of absence from TNT since his drunk driving arrest in late December.
Though Barkley will be shut out of broadcasting during All-Star Weekend, his leave of absence may be coming to an end.
Barkley is set to return to TNT’s NBA studio coverage “soon after” the All-Star break, “though the network has not picked a specific date.” Levy says a decision will be made “right after the All-Star Game.”
