- Bill Davidson: The Hall of Fame owner of the Detroit Pistons passed away last Friday at age 86. Davidson had owned the Pistons since 1974, with the team winning three championships under his reign. When Davidson bought the Pistons, the team was worth $7 million; now, the team is worth $500 million. Davidson also won three titles with the WNBA Detroit Shock, and one with the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning.
- Josh Elliott and Hannah Storm: The SportsCenter morning anchors will guest star on ABC’s Scrubs Wednesday night, playing themselves. In the episode, one of the characters “gets an idea for a risky procedure that may restore a paralyzed teenager?s ability to walk from watching SportsCenter.” Storm has previously made guest appearances on the TV series Arliss and the movie Like Mike.
- Barack Obama: The brother-in-law of Oregon State basketball coach Craig Robinson filled out his NCAA Tournament bracket on SportsCenter Wednesday, in a taped piece with ESPN reporter Andy Katz. In a press release, Katz noted that the former Illinois senator, currently serving as U.S. President, “was knowledgeable about the teams, and was even up to date on the latest injuries involving the contenders.”
