- The Cornell/Syracuse Men’s College Lacrosse Final drew a 0.5 U.S. rating (0.6 cable) on ESPN Monday afternoon, flat from last year. To put that in perspective, that more than doubles the 0.2 U.S. rating (0.3 cable) Versus averaged for its first three IRL races this season, and comes close to the 0.6 rating last year’s MLS Cup drew on broadcast network ABC. - Despite what some have called a weak draft class, the 2009 NBA Draft Lottery drew solid numbers. The Draft Lottery, which saw the Clippers win the #1 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, drew a 1.8 U.S. rating (2.1 cable) and 2.6 million viewers on ESPN May 19, flat in ratings but up 10% in viewers from last year, and tied as the highest rated NBA Draft Lottery ever on ESPN.
- For the third straight week, FOX drew a sub-2.0 rating for Major League Baseball coverage. Regional action last Saturday drew a 1.9/5 final rating, which actually marks a 12% increase from a 1.7/5 for coverage on the comparable date last year. Excluding coverage on May 2, FOX is averaging a 2.0 rating for 6 MLB telecasts, down 9% from a 2.2 for games on the six comparable dates last year.
