- The entire 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs averaged 1.4 million viewers on NBC and Versus, up 17% from 1.2 million for last year’s playoffs. In particular, NBC averaged a 1.9 rating and 3.2 million viewers for its 13-game coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs (including the Stanley Cup Final), up 6% and 10%, respectively, from a 1.8 and 2.9 million last year.
- Last Sunday’s final round of the Stanford St. Jude Classic drew a 1.8/5 final rating and 2.6 million viewers on CBS, down 5% in ratings but flat in viewers from a 1.9 and 2.6 million last year. Entering the U.S. Open, final round coverage of PGA Tour events averaged a 2.6 rating on CBS and NBC, even with last year.
- The College Softball World Series Championship between Washington and Florida averaged a 1.0 U.S. rating and 1.6 million viewers on ESPN2 earlier this month, including a 1.1 and 1.8 million for Washington’s clinching victory. The two College Softball World Series games averaged slightly more viewers than three MLB telecasts did on ESPN the same week (1.1 rating, 1.5 mil).
