- The premiere of Joe Buck’s new HBO talk show drew solid numbers on HBO. Monday’s live episode of Joe Buck Live drew 381,000 viewers on HBO, more than double the 189,000 viewers who tuned into the final three episodes of Costas Now, and 41% higher than the 271,000 who watched Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel last September. - The Stanley Cup Final was not the only ratings success for Versus this month. The WEC Featherweight Championship between Mike Brown and Urijah Faber on June 7 drew 1.2 million viewers on Versus, up 145% from 509,000 viewers for a fight between the same two fighters in November.
- The recent Red Sox/Yankees series drew massive numbers in Boston. NESN averaged a whopping 16.7 rating for the three-game series between the rivals, the net’s highest average for a three-game series since ’07. The big numbers helped boost NESN’s season average for Red Sox telecasts to a 9.4. Entering the series against the Yankees, Red Sox games had been averaging an 8.9.
