- Baseball fans in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area chose the Longhorns over the Rangers on Monday night. Texas’ loss to LSU in the first game of the College World Series final drew a 3.1 rating in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market, compared to a 2.4 for Rangers’ loss to the Diamondbacks.
- Young men were far more interested in mixed martial arts than baseball and golf on Saturday. The finale of The Ultimate Fighter drew 663,000 viewers in the men 18-34 demographic on Spike TV Saturday night, more than MLB on FOX (184,000) and the U.S. Open on NBC (384,000) combined. Overall, the UFC drew 2.2 million viewers, peaking at 2.8 million.
- Last Sunday’s Marlins/Yankees tilt was a hit in South Florida. The game drew a 6.2 rating on FS Florida, making it the highest rated program of the night locally. Overall, the series averaged a 5.2 rating on FS Florida and Sun Sports, the best for a three-game series since last July.
