- Tabloid newsmagazine show Inside Edition was denied credentials to cover the North Carolina/N.C. State college football game on September 3. The game, which will air on ESPN, will be the first assignment for sideline reporter Erin Andrews since hidden camera video of her leaked on the internet in July.
- According to Sports By Brooks, ESPN is looking to “bring back more eclectic, assertive voices” to SportsCenter, as a result of the show drawing fewer viewers and less ad revenue than Pardon the Interruption. While ESPN has thus far “had no luck locating the type of talent they?re looking for,” Sports By Brooks says there will “be bigger personalities on SportsCenter – and soon.”
- Now a member of the Vikings, former Packer Brett Favre will continue to be a familiar face on Green Bay television screens. 8 of the Vikings 16 regular season games will air locally in Green Bay, with 6 airing on FOX affiliate WLUK, one airing on CBS affiliate WRFV, and the other airing on ABC affiliate WBAY (a simulcast of the Vikings/Packers Monday Night Football game on Oct. 5).
