- CBS is getting back into the mixed martial arts game. A year after televising the now-defunct EliteXC, CBS will air the November 7 Strikeforce bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers.
- ESPN will begin its college basketball coverage with 24 consecutive hours of live games on November 17. Coverage begins with Cal State Fullerton/UCLA at 12 AM ET and concludes with Memphis/Kansas at 10 PM. Overall, ESPN will air 12 games in a row. In addition, ESPN2 will air 4 games — the first starting at 5:30 PM and the last beginning at 11:30 PM — and ESPNU will air 2.
- FOXSports.com debuted a new online series called Cubed on Thursday, as part of a new series of five weekly webcasts. The debut of Cubed may have been more suited for 3 AM on premium cable than a mainstream sports site, as the self-proclaimed NSFW (not safe for work) show featured gratuitous nudity (including “15 seconds of a naked woman brushing her teeth“) and graphic language.
