- CBS drew a 4.3 rating for last week’s Tennessee/Florida game, up 48% from a 2.9 for CBS’ first telecast of last season (Georgia/S. Carolina), and up 59% from a 2.7 for last year’s Tennessee/Florida game. The 4.3 rating is the highest for a college football telecast on CBS since Alabama/LSU drew a 5.1 last November.
- Versus drew a 0.1 rating for the Sept. 18 IRL Indy Japan 300. The 0.1 rating comes on the heels of a 0.2 for the August 29 Peak Antifreeze Indy 300 and a 0.3 for the August 23 Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma.
- Through 27 telecasts, NASCAR’s Nationwide Series is averaging 2 million viewers on the ESPN family of networks, down 8% from 2.2 million through the same point in ’08. In particular ESPN2 averaged 2.1 million for 18 races, ABC averaged 2.3 million for 4 races, and ESPN averaged 1.7 million for 5 races.
