- Donna Orender: The WNBA President and former PGA Tour executive will not seek the open position of LPGA Commissioner. Orender, who has been president of the WNBA since ’05, had been one of the “top contenders” to be the next LPGA Commissioner.
- David Hill: The chairman of FOX Sports has lent his support behind the widely panned FoxSports.com webcast, Cubed. Hill told the Sports Business Journal that he is “most pleased” with Cubed — which featured uncensored nudity in its first episode and, more recently, a guest appearance by an adult film actress (accompanied by the headline “Hard Times”).
- George Grande: The Reds’ play-by-play voice, best remembered for anchoring the first edition of ESPN’s SportsCenter, will not return to the booth next season. Grande, the voice of the Reds since 1993, says he wants to “spend more time at home, basically. … I just need to be home on a regular basis, not just four or five days a month, to keep up on things.”
Netflix officially announces expanded NFL deal
The NFL has officially reached a new deal with Netflix that will see the streamer bookend the season.
