If the ratings for Tuesday’s AL Central one-game playoff are any indication, the MLB Postseason could wind up as the latest ratings hit of 2009.
The Twins’ extra inning victory over the Tigers on Tuesday drew a 4.5 overnight rating on TBS, up 36% from last year’s Twins/White Sox playoff, and up 88% from a 2.4 for the Padres/Rockies playoff in ’07.
The rating is even more impressive when one considers that the game began at 5 PM ET on a workday.
