A big market NFC East rivalry game helped NBC to a strong performance in the overnights on Sunday.
Sunday’s Cowboys/Eagles game drew a 14.3/23 overnight rating on NBC, up 20% from an 11.9/18 for Patriots/Colts in Week 9 last year, and up 24% from an 11.5/18 for Cowboys/Eagles in Week 9 two years ago.
The game drew a 37.1/56 in Dallas and a 30.9/45 in Philadelphia.
The 14.3 overnight is the second-highest of the season for a Sunday Night Football game, behind only the Cowboys’ first Sunday night appearance of the season — a Week 2 battle against the Giants that drew a 16.5.
Additionally, the 14.3 is the 7th-highest overnight ever for SNF on NBC. The Cowboys account for 6 of the 10 highest overnights.
Cowboys/Eagles drew the highest overnight of any NFL telecast on Sunday, even topping the late national window on CBS (14.0). This is the first such occurrence since the aforementioned Week 2 Giants/Cowboys game.
