FOX had the marquee games and the biggest numbers during Week 8 of the NFL season, but CBS put up a solid performance in its own right.
Sunday’s NFL singleheader on CBS, featuring Dolphins/Jets, drew a 10.0 overnight rating — up 15% from an 8.7 for comparable coverage on CBS last year, and up 33% from a 7.5 for last week’s singleheader featuring Patriots/Buccaneers.
The 10.0 overnight was the lowest of the day for an NFL telecast, behind two games on FOX. NBC did not air an NFL game during Week 8. This marks the fourth straight Sunday that the NFL game with the lowest overnight rating aired on CBS.
