Despite finishing well behind Favre-fueled FOX, CBS still drew decent enough numbers for NFL coverage during Week 8.
Last Sunday’s NFL singleheader on CBS (featuring Jets/Dolphins) drew an 8.4 rating and 13.5 million viewers — up 12% in ratings and 14% in viewership from comparable coverage last year (7.5, 11.9 mil), and up 31% and 29%, respectively, from last week’s singleheader (6.4, 10.5 mil).
Despite the increase, the 8.4 is the third-lowest of the season for the NFL singleheader.
Through Week 8, CBS is averaging 15.8 million viewers for NFL coverage, up 4% from 15.3 million through the same point last year. Of the four NFL television partners, CBS is averaging the second-fewest viewers for NFL coverage — ahead of only cable network ESPN (14.4 mil).
