CBS saw slight increases in ratings and viewership for Sunday’s battle between the Jets and Chargers.
Sunday’s Jets/Chargers AFC Divisional Round game drew a 20.1/35 final rating and 35.6 million viewers on CBS, up 3% in ratings and 5% in viewership from Chargers/Steelers on CBS last year (19.6/34, 34.1 mil), but down 15% and 11%, respectively, from Giants/Cowboys on FOX in ’08 (23.6/40, 40.1 mil).
Compared to the Packers/Cardinals Wild Card game a week earlier, Jets/Chargers was up 3% and 4%, respectively.
Of the 12 late Sunday Divisional Round games since ’99, Jets/Chargers stands as the 5th-lowest rated.
Sunday’s game drew a 12.3/36 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. To put that in perspective, Sunday night’s top entertainment telecast (The Golden Globe Awards on NBC) drew a 5.5/14 in the demo.
