NBC dominated the night in primetime thanks to coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
Coverage of the Winter Olympics drew 23.2 million viewers in primetime (8-11 PM) Friday night, according to Nielsen fast-affiliate data. NBC outdrew second-place ABC (4.9 mil) by 373% — the NBC’s largest advantage over its second-place competitor since last Saturday.
Friday’s coverage also averaged a 5.4/17 among adults 18-49, topping second-place ABC (1.5/4) by 260%.
Unlike previous nights this week, when NBC had to contend with the likes of American Idol and Grey’s Anatomy, Friday’s television slate featured far less formidable competition — including the movie Meet The Fockers on ABC, reruns of programming on CBS and FOX, and low-rated programming on The CW.
