Ratings and viewership slipped for the Big East Championship Game on ESPN.
Saturday’s Georgetown/West Virginia matchup drew a 2.0 U.S. rating and 2.9 million viewers on ESPN, down 17% in ratings and 26% in viewership from Syracuse/Louisville last year (2.4, 3.9 mil). Last year’s game was the most-viewed Big East telecast on ESPN since at least ’90.
Compared to Pittsburgh/Georgetown in ’08, Saturday’s game was up 17% and 19%, respectively, from a 1.7 and 2.4 million viewers.
Georgetown/West Virginia stands as the third-highest rated Big East Championship Game since ’02.
