CBS saw a small boost in overnight ratings for the Big Ten Championship Game on Sunday.
Ohio State’s blowout of Minnesota drew a 2.7 overnight rating on CBS Sunday, up 4% from Purdue/Ohio St. last year (2.6), and up 80% from Wisconsin/Illinois two years ago (1.5).
The 2.7 overnight rating is the highest for the Big Ten Championship Game since ’07 (3.1), but ranks as the fourth-lowest overnight for the game since 2001.
Saturday’s Ohio St./Illinois semifinal drew a 2.0 overnight on CBS, up 25% from Ohio St./Michigan St. last year (1.6). Meanwhile, the Minnesota/Purdue semifinal drew a 1.8 overnight, up 29% from Purdue/Illinois last year (1.4).
Last year’s semifinals aired in earlier timeslots.
