Tiger Woods has become comedic fodder everywhere from Saturday Night Live to a Taiwanese news program. Now, Comedy Central’s South Park is getting in on the action.
Wednesday’s season premiere of South Park will focus on Woods’ infidelity scandal and the issue of sex addiction. The episode was still being written as of Friday.
Possibly tongue-in-cheek, South Park co-creator Matt Stone told the Associated Press that the sex addiction “outbreak” is “such an important issue in America right now. … We’re all really concerned about [Woods] and hope he gets better.”
A clip from the episode available on the South Park website featured an animated version of Woods’ public apology last month. At the end of the clip, South Park character Eric Cartman can be seen standing next to Woods on the podium.
Stone told the Associated Press that he was “fascinated and disgusted” by Woods’ apology, and that the Woods scandal had given the show “so much fodder” that “they could have made an entire Tiger-centric season.”
