The Stanley Cup Playoffs got off to a good start nationally.
Versus averaged 478,000 viewers for the first night of the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs, up 22% from last year (392,000), and the most-viewed opening night of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on cable since the 2004-05 lockout.
Among men 18-49 and 25-54, Wednesday’s coverage was the highest rated opening night on cable since ’02.
Keep in mind that Wednesday’s games were blacked out in home markets — as opposed to the NBA’s first round playoff games, which coexist in local markets, and Major League Baseball’s Division Series, which is exclusive to TBS.
