- Eric Shanks: The 38-year-old former DirecTV executive has been named the new president of FOX Sports. Shanks, who will begin June 1, is “believed to be the youngest president” ever of a network sports division. Former FOX Sports president Ed Goren has been elevated to vice chairman. - Stan Van Gundy: The Magic coach had some harsh words for ESPN NBA analyst Michael Wilbon. After Wilbon told a radio station that he thinks Van Gundy “will be fired” if the Magic lose to the Celtics, Van Gundy said he’s not worried about what Wilbon “would think about anything.” Van Gundy: “I have refused to be on [Pardon the Interruption] for years, for five years. … If you go on guys’ shows, they don’t criticize you. If you won’t go on their show, they do. That stuff is never known. There’s a lack of integrity in that business.” (Fanhouse)
- Don Bell, Max Bretos, Adnan Virk, Steve Weissman and Sara Walsh: The five are the latest additions to ESPNEWS anchor team, with all but Walsh having already made their debut on the network. Bretos and Virk come from Fox Soccer Channel and Raptors NBA TV, respectively, while the other three worked for local television affiliates or regional sports networks. (ESPN)
