Despite being a competitive game that tied up the series, Tuesday’s Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals stumbled in the overnights.
The Suns’ Game 4 win over the Lakers drew a 5.8 overnight rating on TNT Tuesday night, down 5% from Sunday’s Game 3 (6.1), but above Games 1 and 2 (5.3 and 5.4, respectively).
The 5.8 overnight is also down from Magic/Celtics Game 4 on ESPN Monday night (6.2).
Tuesday’s game is virtually guaranteed to finish below last year’s Cavaliers/Magic Game 4, which drew a 6.3 final rating on TNT. The game could also finish behind Lakers/Spurs Game 4 in ’08, which drew a 4.8 final rating.
So far in the Conference Finals, ratings have declined between 16% and 19% from the overnight to the final, putting Tuesday’s game on pace for a rating in the 4.7-4.9 range.
