Regional MLB coverage featuring Yankees/Red Sox drew a 2.4 overnight rating on FOX Saturday afternoon, up 20% from coverage featuring Rays/Red Sox last year (2.0), but down 23% from the first Yankees/Red Sox game on FOX last season (3.1, 4/25/09).
Last year, two of the three* Yankees/Red Sox games on FOX drew at least a 3.0 overnight, including the aforementioned April 24 telecast.
As recently as three years ago, FOX drew a hefty 3.7 overnight for an early season Yankees/Red Sox telecast.
Yankees/Red Sox was outdrawn on Saturday by NASCAR on FOX (3.9), Lakers/Jazz on ABC (4.4) and even the third round of The Players Championship on NBC (2.5).
