NBC is assigning one of its biggest names to the Stanley Cup Final.
Dan Patrick will anchor NBC’s coverage of the Stanley Cup Final this season, marking the first time he has covered the event for the network. Patrick replaces Darren Pang, who anchored last year.
Patrick is easily the highest profile host for the Stanley Cup Final on NBC, with his predecessors including the aforementioned Pang, Bill Clement and Bob Neumeier.
This is the latest addition to Patrick’s NBC workload. He hosted the network’s coverage of The Players Championship over the weekend, and was one of the many broadcasters used for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
In 2006 and 2007, Patrick hosted coverage of the NBA Finals for ABC.
