The Rays attracted record audiences for their recent battle with the Yankees.
Saturday’s Yankees/Rays game, the second of a three-game series between the teams, drew a 10.7 rating on Sun Sports in the Tampa-St. Petersburg market.
The 10.7 rating is the highest rating ever for a regular season Rays telecast in the market, topping the previous high of 9.3 for Red Sox/Rays in July ’08.
The rating also tops the previous season-high of 8.8 for Red Sox/Rays last month.
The entire three-game series averaged a 9.9 rating on Sun Sports, the highest ever for a three-game regular season series involving the Rays.
So far this season, Rays telecasts are averaging a 5.7 rating, up 73% from last year (3.3).
