Felony charges will not be filed against Jay Mariotti for a recent domestic disturbance, though the suspended Fanhouse.com personality could still face misdemeanor charges.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has “declined … to pursue a criminal case” against Mariotti, according to multiple reports, referring the case “to the Los Angeles city attorney, who could still pursue misdemeanor charges.”
A spokesperson for the district attorney’s office said the case “was consistent with misdemeanor charges.”
Mariotti was arrested in late August following a domestic disturbance. He was suspended from Fanhouse.com less than a week later, and has yet to make an appearance on ESPN’s Around The Horn — where he has been a regular for eight years — since.
