It was a high-scoring Top 25 battle, but last week’s Arkansas/Auburn game did not exactly have viewers rushing to their televisions.
CBS drew a 2.9 final rating for Auburn’s win over Arkansas last Saturday, down 33% from last year (ARK/UF: 4.3), and the second-lowest rating of the season for college football on CBS.
Viewership for the game was not immediately available.
For some perspective, three of the previous four college football telecasts on CBS had drawn at least a 4.5 rating — all three involving then-#1 Alabama.
Saturday’s telecast was outdrawn head-to-head by regional college football action on ABC (3.6), but topped Notre Dame football on NBC (1.3).
