A dispute between Cablevision and News Corporation has resulted Cablevision customers missing Saturday’s Giants/Phillies Game 1 on FOX.
New York FOX affiliate WNYW and Philadelphia FOX affiliate WTXF were dropped from Cablevision systems at midnight on Saturday, following the expiration of an existing deal between News Corporation and Cablevision.
The corporations had been in negotiations on a new deal, but “failed to agree on subscription fees.”
The move left approximately three million television households, primarily in the New York area, unable to view FOX programming. That includes Saturday’s Giants/Phillies NLCS Game 1.
Cablevision and FOX were not able to come to an agreement on Saturday, but intend to resume negotiations on Sunday. If no agreement is reached, New York’s Cablevision subscribers may be unable to watch Sunday’s Lions/Giants game on FOX.
