Despite facing strong NFL competition, Game 3 of the Giants/Braves series had a double-digit increase in ratings on TBS.
Opposite the NFL national window on CBS, the Giants’ Game 3 win over the Braves drew a 2.6 U.S. rating and 4.238 million viewers on TBS — up 18% and 26%, respectively, from 2008 (TB/CHW G3: 2.2, 3.352 mil).
There was no game in the comparable timeslot last year.
Game 2 of the series on Friday night drew better numbers, although that game was down from both last year and 2008.
The Braves’ win drew a 3.0 U.S. rating and 4.774 million viewers, down 9% in ratings and 6% in viewership from last year (BOS/LAA G2: 3.3, 5.069 mil) and down 9% in both from 2008 (BOS/LAA G2: 3.3, 5.268 mil).
Entering Monday’s Game 4, the Giants/Braves series has been the second most-viewed Division Series, trailing Yankees/Twins and barely ahead of Phillies/Reds.
