Recent sports media news, including The Dan Patrick Show airing on Fox Sports Net, the Pro Bowling Association signing a new deal with ESPN and TBS debuting a live batting cage in studio for the MLB Postseason.
- Thanks to a syndication deal between DirecTV and Fox Sports Net, the TV simulcast of The Dan Patrick Show will begin airing on Fox Sports Net RSNs (including those owned by DirecTV) beginning October 25. DirecTV’s 101 Network began simulcasting The Dan Patrick Show in August of last year. (TV By The Numbers)
- ESPN and the Pro Bowlers Association have agreed to a three-year extension of their current television contract. Under the extension, which runs through 2013, twenty PBA events per year will air on the ESPN family of networks. ABC will air the 2011 PBA Tournament of Champions, the first time the network has aired the event since 1997. (ESPN)
- TBS will use a live, in-studio batting cage and pitching machine during its coverage of the 2010 MLB Postseason. The network’s studio analysts — Dennis Eckersley, Cal Ripken and David Wells — will “demonstrate hitting techniques and pitching strategies of the game.” (Turner Sports)
