The ongoing Vikings soap opera gave FOX a slight boost in the overnights Sunday afternoon.
The Week 11 NFL singleheader, featuring Packers/Vikings in 31% of TV markets, drew a 12.4 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — up 2% from Week 11 last year (WSH/DAL*: 12.2), and up 11% from Week 11 in 2008 (CHI/GB*: 11.2).
The Packers/Vikings game marked the fourth, and likely final, head-to-head matchup between Brett Favre and his former team. The previous three matchups drew overnights of 14.2 (at MIN, ESPN), 18.3 (vs. MIN, FOX) and 16.0 (vs. MIN, NBC).
Of course, two of those three games aired nationally, and the third aired in 91% of TV markets.
The 12.4 overnight for Sunday’s telecast is the fourth-highest of the season for the singleheader window (11 telecasts).
