Nearing the halfway point of its 96-game slate, NBA TV is averaging over 50% more viewers for its live NBA games than MLB Network did for live baseball coverage during the 2010 season.
NBA TV is averaging a 0.16 U.S. rating and 233,000 viewers for live NBA games during the 2010-11 season (43 telecasts through January 12). In particular, the network is averaging a 0.24 and 363,000 viewers for its Fan Night coverage.
For some perspective, NBA TV is well ahead of MLB Network, which averaged a 0.11 and 152,000 viewers for its regular season baseball coverage during the 2010 season.
On the flip side, the network’s NBA coverage trails the NHL on Versus, which is averaging a 0.17 and 261,000 this season (39 telecasts through January 12).
In the men 18-34 demographic, NBA TV is averaging 59,000 viewers, topping both the NHL on Versus (50,000) and MLB on MLB Network (25,000).
Keep in mind both MLB Network (55.274M HH) and Versus (75.187M HH) are in more television homes than NBA TV (54.021M HH).
