For the third consecutive weekend, ratings and viewership improved for the PGA Tour on CBS.
Final round coverage of last week’s Pebble Beach National Pro-Am earned a 2.3 final rating and 3.437 million viewers on CBS last Sunday, up 44% in ratings and 51% in viewership from last year (1.6, 2.278M).
The final round in 2009 was canceled due to inclement weather.
The telecast ranked as the #4 sporting event of the week on broadcast, behind two NBA games on ABC and the Budweiser Shootout on FOX.
Saturday’s third round action earned a 1.6 and 2.264 million viewers, up 33% and 39%, respectively, from last year (1.2, 1.624M).
So far this season, all six PGA Tour telecasts on CBS have had increases in ratings and viewership from coverage on the comparable dates last year. Five of the six windows have had double-digit increases.
