Though not as big a hit as Celtics/Lakers later in the day, Sunday’s Heat/Thunder matchup scored good numbers for ABC.
Miami’s win over the Thunder drew a 2.5 final rating and 3.788 million viewers on ABC Sunday afternoon, up 56% in ratings and 63% in viewership from last year (DEN/SAS: 1.6, 2.328M), and up 47% and 45%, respectively, from 2009 (DAL/BOS: 1.7, 2.620M).
The game is tied as the highest rated regular season NBA game on ABC in the 1 PM window since January 25, 2004 (SAC/DAL: 2.7).
Heat/Thunder drew the fourth-largest audience for a sporting event over the weekend, behind only the Pro Bowl on FOX (7.7, 13.406M), Celtics/Lakers on ABC (4.3, 7.003M), and the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open on CBS (3.5, 5.307M).
