Just one day after the Heritage Classic drew one of the best regular season NHL audiences ever on Versus, the network scored even larger numbers for Monday’s Penguins/Capitals matchup.
The Capitals’ 1-0 win over the Penguins earned 681,000 viewers on Versus Monday night, the network’s third-largest regular season NHL audience ever.
Four of Versus’ five most-viewed regular season NHL games have taken place this season alone.
Just one night earlier, the Canadiens/Flames Heritage Classic drew 608,000 viewers, ranking fifth all-time among regular season games on Versus.
According to Puck the Media, this is the first time since the NHL returned from its 2004-05 lockout that consecutive games on cable have drawn over 600,000 viewers.
