The second half of the NHL season got off to a strong start on Versus.
Versus earned a 0.3 U.S. rating and 534,000 viewers for Penguins/Rangers Monday night, the network’s third-most viewed NHL telecast of the season.
The game was Versus’ second straight to earn at least 450,000 viewers. A Penguins/Rangers game six nights earlier earned 460,000.
This marks the first time since the 2003-04 season that two consecutive regular season games on cable drew at least 450,000 viewers.
Overall, Versus has averaged 437,000 viewers for its first three exclusive telecasts since the All-Star break, up 85% from last year’s comparable games, and a 45% improvement on the network’s average during the first half of the season.
